Dallas Misses The Point
The red light cameras in Dallas are so effective that there is a big drop in people running red lights and consequently getting a fine. This means that revenue to the city from people running red lights is way down. Dallas is now turning off some of the cameras to save money (the cameras cost money to operate) and to possibly hope that the ticket revenue starts to go up again. Here is the story at The Dallas Morning News. Maybe Dallas should take more police off the streets so speeding ticket revenue will go up too.
